The farm is 56 Hectares offering our volunteers a selection of affordable accommodation paired with a friendly and warm ambiance. Perfectly situated with panoramic views over the Badplaas valley, We offer various en-suite chalets, each with its own private deck overlooking the spectacular mountains with a few having the facility to self-cater. We can sleep up to 34 volunteers in a combination of 2 – 6 sleeper chalets. All rooms have ceiling fans, either shower or bath and braai facilities.
There is our on-site restaurant where all your basic meals will be served. We also have a fully stocked and competitively priced honesty bar with a large screen TV showing all the major sporting fixtures with a pool table and dart board for entertainment. The restaurant area offers free wifi to our volunteers. For those chilly winter evenings, we have a large open fireplace with couches to curl up on. We are home to a large variety of free roaming wildlife and birdlife including Duiker, Kudu, Reedbuck, Jackal, Servals and Vervet Monkeys.
Peacefully tranquil… Absolutely amazing scenery, great vibes and wonderful people! From the moment we made our booking Kelly was welcoming and willing to assist. On arrival Kelly and Clayton have gone out their way to make us feel welcomed! It has been such an amazing experience….

What a wonderful laid back environment. The atmosphere was wonderful (like being at a home away from home). The food was great and it is definitely a place you should go to if you are not looking for anything more than rest & relaxation. The owners are friendly people, the monkeys are beautiful and the playground, pool area and the space generally is very well kept.
I will definitely go back there!

Value for money and just lovely to see the rehab of the wildlife out in the wilderness and only a 3 hour drive from JNB and a 1.5 hour from Nelspruit. Bar and restaurant on the premises and self-catering too.

Unfortunately not at this stage. This is something that we are looking at for the future.
Everything roams free at Mount Hlumu. The entire property is fenced and we have not encountered any problems to-date with regards to any animal visiting. If you feel a little anxious then you are more than welcome to have your babies on leads.
